No
The research focuses on teachers’ perceptions and pedagogical practices in the teaching of the English language to children at the early childhood education level. Within this framework, the following research problem is formulated: ¿What are teachers’ perceptions and practices in the teaching of the English language to early childhood education children in a private institution in Lima? Based on this question, the general objective was established as analyzing teachers’ perceptions and practices in the teaching of the English language to early childhood education children in a private institution in Lima. From this objective, two specific objectives emerged: to describe teachers’ perceptions regarding the teaching of the English language to early childhood education children, and to identify teaching practices used in the instruction of the English language at this level. This research follows a qualitative approach, using the semi-structured interview as the main data collection technique, with an interview guide applied to two early childhood education teachers, who constitute the sample selected based on criteria of experience and accessibility. Regarding the results, it was found that teachers value the teaching of English as a means of promoting meaningful learning in the classroom. However, difficulties related to the limited availability of resources and the need to strengthen teacher training were also identified. Nevertheless, the teachers agree that learning English at an early age is beneficial, and they describe various strategies they employ in their classroom activities.
