The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the “My listening, my friend” program on the listening comprehension of 5 years old children attending a state/public early education institution in the district of Pimentel- Lambayeque. This program provides sessions with a playful and participatory methodology aimed at enhancing vocabulary, morphology and syntax in children. To this end, an explanatory research approach with an experimental design- specifically a quasiexperimental one- was carried out, which included pre and post tests applied to 2 groups: experimental and control, being the experimental group the one participating in the program. The study had a total sample of 32 students equally distributed between both groups. The results were measured with the Language Listening Comprehension Test in both groups. At the completion of this study, significant achievements were observed in listening comprehension and its componentsvocabulary, morphology, and syntax. Therefore, it was concluded that the “My listening, my friend” program enhances listening comprehension in 5 years old children attending a state early education institution in the District of Pimentel. The experimental group showed more favorable results in comparison with the control group, thereby affirming the efficacy and importance of the use of the playful, participatory and experiential methodology in enhancing children’s listening comprehension.
