This research is linked to the selection of strategies that teachers apply in the practical part and the comprehensive development of children, specifically in the area of language. Considering that language is a pillar in the development of early childhood, it is essential to consolidate its development. In the same way, through language, children can express their needs, feelings, ideas and opinions in various contexts. Likewise, this study has the general objective to analyze the teaching strategies used for the development of the semantic lexical component of language in 3-year-old children from a private school in Surco. Next, two specific objectives are set; the first, to describe the development of language in 3 years old children and the second, to describe the teaching strategies used for the development of the semantic lexical component. In addition, the methodology used in this research work has a qualitative and descriptive approach. Along these lines, information is collected through techniques such as interviews and observation in order to carry out a triangulation to analyze the experiences of social subjects. According to the theoretical scope of language, the participants' understanding and the importance they give to the semantic lexical component at 3 years of age are evident. Regarding strategies, it is evident that a large number of strategies are used, but one in particular stands out, which is the story, due to the ease with which acquires vocabulary and its meaning.
