This paper presents the analysis of color as a cultural element applied to the Chinese animation “Mo Dao Zu Shi”. From this total we worked with a representative sample of 194 images resulting from the filters, 10 of them were chosen to finish with a focus group of 9 people. Among the results it was found that the colors red and black were integrated into the everyday life of the participants, which demonstrates the transculturation process described in the literature. While this paper provides timely information focused on a specific fandom, it is useful for future studies to explore the phenomenon of transculturation in different aspects of Chinese animation.
