The present research work aims to describe the level of knowledge about the stuttering of primary education professors from private educational institutions in the districts of Santa Anita, Santiago de Surco, La Molina and Miraflores. To obtain this information, The survey for teachers, by Miranda and Navarro (2010), was applied, which consists of 10 questions that describe the level of knowledge about stuttering. In relation to the methodology, it has a quantitative approach, descriptive and non- experimental design since it does not intend to alter the analyzed phenomena. Likewise, there was a population of 3416, obtaining as shows 165 teachers. The results obtained in this research show that primary level teachers have an average knowledge about stuttering; since they presented adequate knowledge in relation to the ideal professional to treat stuttering, the importance of family in the treatment of stuttering, the importance of school in the treatment of stuttering; While, in the remaining 7 —concept of stuttering, causes of stuttering, risk factors of stuttering, age of the appearance of stuttering, prevalence of sex of stuttering, characteristics of stuttering, educational strategies to communicate with a student with stuttering— the knowledge of teachers is biased by myths or beliefs. In conclusion, there was an increase in knowledge that teachers have regarding stuttering in relation to previous national and international research; However, this does not become significant.
