Abstract

It was collected the data of sex, age, marital status and profession of the student and the day of study of the program (Saturday or Sunday) of the student, which were included as variables to be able to analyze if there is any interaction effect with the independent variable happiness. The survey was applied to 170 students enrolled in seven MBA programs at a business school located in Peru. The average happiness was 4.44 with a standard deviation of 0.72. The average academic performance was 16.15 with a standard deviation of 1.77. It was found that students show levels of happiness above the average (3.5) of the scale of happiness of the instrument used and above the undergraduate students of a university in the United States. It was found a weak relationship between happiness and academic performance (R = 0.226) and that academic performance has a weak relation with the study day (Saturday or Sunday) and no relationship with sex, profession or marital status. It was also found that female students showed higher levels of happiness than male students and that students of Saturday programs showed higher levels of happiness than students of Sunday programs.
