This study explores the relationship between the development and establishment of hegemonic masculinity and emotions, as well as the dispositional and situational factors suggested by the Emotions Imbuid Choice model, which could enable emotional outcome in men. Since seven (7) middle-aged men stories, a main finding was that hegemonic masculinity could have an impact on emotional constrains, specifically in emotions related to vulnerability, such as fear, guilt and shame. And these so-called vulnerability emotions would be the only ones that men would consider as emotions. Meanwhile anger and happiness would not be considered as ones. The belief would be that anger and happiness are reactions, rather than emotions, which enable their display without restrictions. Operated by the “animal” or instinct trait of the hegemonic masculinity. Component found in this study. These beliefs about emotions would be eliciting some and refrain others, resulting in a divided perspective of masculinity or split. Finally, the study establishes dispositional and situational factors which could contribute to an integral and healthier display of emotions in men. For instance, fathers who could have emotional bonding with their sons, the public positive recognition from fathers to mothers, no-homophobic environment, as well as a more integrated vision of feminine and empathy reinforcement and development. Structurally, instead of adopting a gender identity, adopt a human identity.
