Abstract
exportaciones tradicionales y no tradicionales.
In the last decade Peru has shown sustained economic growth, which has made it an attractive country for private investment, whether foreign or domestic. This growth has been based on the increase of traditional and non-traditional exports. The shrimp industry in Peru, which is part of non-traditional exports, increases its contribution to the country's economy year by year. Consequently, in the last decade, it has registered a significant growth, reflected in the increase in production, commercialization and other aspects related to the same. Part of its success is represented by the industry's ability to overcome several external events related to climate change and to the white spot disease that affected production in the past years, to which producers responded by looking for new options that allowed them to stabilize the production, through improving its technical and productive capacities. Peru is a privileged country in climate conditions, geography and availability of natural resources, which if are properly employed is possible to achieve even greater growth in the shrimp industry, in addition to the international context of increased demand for shrimp and the development of strategic alliances with the national government to promote scientific research, capacity development and international promotion for the shrimp. This provides a favorable framework in the coming years for the growth of the industry that can increase participation in current markets and boost entry to new markets, as well as meet internal demand for shrimp
