Abstract
El propósito de la investigación fue identificar las características culturales del empresario
arequipeño que influyen en el proceso de negociación y además evidenciar los principales
obstáculos que se pueden presentar durante esta. El valor de la investigación radica en el uso
de los resultados como una guía para facilitar los procesos de negociación y de inversión de
peruanos y extranjeros en la ciudad de Arequipa, generando una herramienta que brinde una
visión clara de la forma en la que los empresarios arequipeños se comportan al hacer
negocios. En la investigación se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo y se ha usado como
instrumento para la recolección de datos las entrevistas a profundidad realizadas a 2 mujeres
y 9 hombres, todos jefes o gerentes de empresas arequipeñas. La estrategia de análisis
utilizada fue el método del caso y el procesamiento y análisis de datos se realizó a través del
software Atlas.ti. Los resultados de la investigación permitieron identificar características
propias de los empresarios arequipeños al negociar así como recomendar su aplicación a
otros sectores de la región, priorizando la investigación en las pequeñas y medianas empresas
con el fin de mejorar sus competencias para negociar
The purpose of the research was to identify the cultural characteristics of Arequipa entrepreneur who influence the negotiation process and further highlight the main obstacles that may occur during this. The value of research is the use of the results as a guide to facilitate the negotiation process and Peruvian and foreign investment in the city of Arequipa, creating a tool that provides a clear view of how entrepreneurs arequipeños behave when doing business. A qualitative approach was used in the investigation and has been used as a tool for data collection depth interviews conducted with 2 women and 9 men, all arequipeñas heads or managers of companies. The analysis strategy used was the case method and processing and data analysis was performed using Atlas.ti software. The results of the research helped identify typical of Arequipa to negotiate and recommend its application to other sectors in the region, prioritizing research on small and medium enterprises to improve their skills to negotiate business features
