Abstract
Compañía Minera Raura se encuentra ubicada en el departamento de Huánuco. La
forma de explotación es subterránea polimetálica que produce zinc, cobre, plomo y plata. El
objetivo de la consultoría fue identificar los principales problemas que afectan el margen
operativo de la Unidad Minera como consecuencia de la contaminación con sulfuros y
humedad en los finos de minerales comercializados. El primer paso fue realizar un análisis
del contexto externo de la empresa utilizando el análisis PESTEL. Luego se realizó un
análisis del contexto interno de la empresa utilizando la metodología AMOFHIT para
detectar una lista de problemas de factores internos y externos. Posteriormente se utilizó la
metodología de Diagrama de Pareto con el objetivo de identificar los problemas principales
que afectan la utilidad operativa, quedando tres problemas: (a) procesos ineficientes en la
clasificación del mineral, (b) mayor vertimiento de relaves en comparación con lo planificado
y (c) no se cumple con la producción diaria de finos de mineral.
Asimismo, se utilizó la matriz de complejidad versus beneficios estableciendo el
impacto en la utilidad operativa como criterio de análisis (EERR) y se identificó como
problema principal los procesos ineficientes en la clasificación del mineral. Luego se
evaluaron las alternativas de solución al problema principal, concluyendo que la
implementacion de una planta Ore Sorting en el proceso de transformacion de mineral es la
solucion mas rentable y eficiente. Luego se realizó un análisis financiero del proyecto, así
como la identificación de sus principales indicadores de gestión. Se tomó en consideracion el
Valor Actual Neto (VAN), Tasa Interna de Retorno (TIR), Tasa Interna de Retorno
Modificada (TIRm) y Beneficio Costo como los principales indicadores financieros.
Finalmente, se realizó un análisis de sensibilidad del proyecto considerando la variación en
los precios internacionales de los metales comparándolos con las ventas proyectadas, las
variaciones en el CAPEX, OPEX y costo de ventas.
The Mining Company Raura located in the copper department of Huánuco. The way of exploitation is polymetallic underground that produces zinc, lead, and silver. The objective of the consultancy was to identify the main problems that impact the operating margin of the Mining Unit as a result of contamination with sulfides and moisture in the commercialized mineral fines. The first step was performing an analysis, using PESTEL, of the external context of the company analysis. Then, performing the analysis using AMOFHIT of the internal context of the company, finds out a list of issues of internal and external factors. Subsequently, to identify the main problems influencing the operating profit, It used the Pareto Diagram Methodology. Reevealing three issues: (a) Inefficient processes at the classification of the ore, (b) Greater pouring of tailings compared to what went intended, and (c) the not fulfilling the daily production of ore fines. In the same way, the complexity matrix against the benefits that the impact on operating profit will provide as an analysis criterion (EERR) will improve identifying the inefficient processes in mineral classification as the main problem. Later, the alternative solutions to the main problem went evaluated to promote the acquisition of mineral selection equipment (Ore Sorter) as the viable solution. Based on it, an estimation of the investment's costs, time, risks, and main success factors that involve the use of the project went made. The identification of the principal management indicators of the project too. Then, using the Present Net Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Modified Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Cost-Benefit as the primary financial indicators of the project. Finally, it performed an analysis of the sensibility of the project considering the variation in the international prices of metals, comparing them with the projected sales and the variations in CAPEX, OPEX, and cost of sales.
