Abstract
The quality of the cement and other building materials has attracted attention in recent years, however not all local organizations that make up this category have been attracted by that case similarly and this is worrying given the demands of the local market, which becomes increasingly competitive. That is why the need to undertake a study in this line of business between companies in Lima and provinces whose owners or managers were detected were willing to share information, taking as reference the fact of having implemented or not a System Quality Management (QMS). In this regard, research addressed the issue with a quantitative approach partially finding that there are significant differences between those companies that have a QMS and who do not possess. This certainly raises concerns but challenging, because if timely undertake the necessary corrective measures could be improved results achieved in the long term, which is required to repair quickly the importance of implementing a QMS and then consider adopting a philosophy as Total Quality Management (TQM) or certification as a metaestándar ISO 9001: 2008. Finally, note that any improvement initiative in this regard should start a proper understanding of the implications of the issue of quality, since even today the short term so common concern should not be thought that this matter works similarly it would mean a serious error that can cause disappointment and alienation about placing in the worst possible scenario for the industry under study
