Abstract
El café, el primer producto de agroexportación en el Perú, genera diversos residuos a lo
largo de su tratamiento y los últimos desperdicios producidos al consumir una taza de café
pasado se llama borra de café. Estos son generados principalmente en las cafeterías y hogares,
donde no son reciclados de manera correcta terminando finalmente en vertederos, ocasionando el
incremento de la contaminación ambiental y afectando la salud de las personas.
Composcafé, una empresa socialmente responsable y sostenible que adopta la actividad
de compostaje cuyo principal insumo es la borra de café, como una estrategia para cuidar el
planeta y sus recursos; además de alinearse a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible 12, 13 y 15
para cumplir sus metas con propósito ambiental y social. Para la elaboración del proyecto se hizo
uso de metodologías ágiles y fue complementado por la investigación científica; esto permitió
crear un abono orgánico disruptivo con agradable aroma a café y propuesta de valor innovadora
centrada en el cliente.
Finalmente, los resultados de los indicadores financieros de una proyección a cinco años
demuestran la sostenibilidad económica del proyecto. La inversión inicial será financiada con
recursos propios y asciende a S/. 12,737 y considerando un Costo Promedio Ponderado del
Capital (CPPC) de 7.4%, se obtiene como resultado un Valor Actual Neto de S/. 124,104, una
Tasa Interna de Retorno de 130% con un período de recuperación equivalente a un año cuatro
meses; así mismo la utilidad al final de este período asciende a S/. 66,195.
Coffee, the first agro-export product in Perú, generate various residues throughout its treatment and the last waste produced from consuming a cup of stale coffee is called Spent Coffee Grounds. These are generated mainly in coffee shops and homes, where they are not recycled correctly and finally ending in landfills, contributing in a negative way to the environmental pollution and human health. With the aim of minimizing the negative impact generated by the coffee waste, Composcafé was born, a socially responsible and sustainable company that adopts composting as a strategy to take care of the planet and its resources, aligning itself with the 12, 13, and 15 Sustainable Development Goals, in order to accomplish its goals with environmental and social purposes. We have created a disruptive organic fertilizer, with a pleasant coffee aroma and an innovative value proposition focused on the customer, thanks to the agile methodologies that were used in the elaboration of this project and was complemented by the scientific research. Finally, the results of the financial indicators, considering a five-year projection, demonstrate the economic sustainability of the project. Having in consideration that the initial investment is about S/. 12,737 (Peruvian soles), financed by own capital and resources, and a Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) of 7.4%, we can obtain the following economic indicators: A Net Present Value (NPV) of S/. 124,104 (Peruvian soles), an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 130% and a Payback equivalent one year and four months, and the profit at the end of the period would be S/. 66,195.
