Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación entre el conflicto de rol de
género y la insatisfacción corporal masculina en estudiantes universitarios varones de Lima
Metropolitana. Se contó con 123 participantes de entre 18 y 28 años. Para evaluar el conflicto
de rol de género, se utilizó la Gender Role Conflict Scale (GRCS), adaptada por Canessa
(2018). Junto con esto, para evaluar la insatisfacción corporal masculina se utilizó la Male
Body Attitudes Scale (MBAS), adaptada por Sepúlveda et al (2018). Además, se analizaron
ambos constructos según variables sociodemográficas tales como peso, talla, estado civil y
género de la pareja del encuestado. Se halló una relación positiva entre conflicto de rol de
género e insatisfacción corporal masculina a nivel de escala total, y parcialmente a nivel de
subdimensiones. Entre las variables sociodemográficas, se encontraron diferencias
únicamente entre la edad, peso, talla y género de la pareja del participante y la escala de
Insatisfacción corporal.
The current research had the goal of studying the relationship between the gender role conflict and the male body dissatisfaction in a sample of college students from Lima. The sample consisted of 123 participants with ages between 18 and 28 years old. To evaluate gender role conflict, it was used the Gender role conflict scale (GRCS) adapted by Canessa (2018). Along with this, to evaluate the male body dissatisfaction, the study used the Male Body Attitudes Scale (MBAS), adapted by Sepúlveda et al. (2018). Also, an analysis of both constructs was done according to sociodemographic variables such as weight, height, civil status and gender of the participant’s partner. In so, it was found a positive correlation between gender role conflict and male body dissatisfaction at global scale level, and partially linked some subdimensions. Among the sociodemographic variables, there were significant differences only in age, weight, height and gender of the participant’s partners and the body dissatisfaction scale.
