Abstract
The research aims to describe the vocal habits and the vocal self-perception of primary education teachers at a private institution of Lima. The research corresponds to the basic type, and nonexperimental design since variables were not manipulated. Furthermore, the research was descriptive since the characteristics in a specific population were pointed out. The study involved 53 primary education teachers who were administered the Vocal Habits Questionnaire and the Voice Handicap Index. The results showed that many surveyed teachers do not perceive their voice as a problem, especially in the functional and emotional dimensions. Likewise, a significant number of teachers claims to have healthy vocal habits. In conclusion, there is a lack of knowledge regarding adequate vocal technique strategies for professional voice use.
