Estrés académico y apoyo social en estudiantes universitarios migrantes y no migrantes: estudio comparativo

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo comparar las diferencias en el estrés académico y el apoyo social entre estudiantes universitarios del interior del país que migran a Lima por estudios y estudiantes universitarios provenientes de Lima. Para esto se tuvo una muestra de 119 participantes (70 de Lima metropolitana y 49 de provincia). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Inventario SISCO SV-21 para medir el estrés Académico y la Escala Multidimensional del Apoyo Social Percibido (MSPSS) y la convocatoria se realizó mediante redes sociales. Respecto a los resultados, solo se encontraron diferencias significativas entre el grupo de Lima y el de provincia en el apoyo social brindado por los amigos, siendo mayor en los estudiantes provenientes de Lima. De manera adicional, al evaluar las variables sociodemográficas también se encontró que, en ambos grupos, el estrés académico y el apoyo social estarían más presentes en las estudiantes mujeres. Dichos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de continuar con los estudios referentes al tema en la población de estudiantes migrantes, con una muestra más amplia y considerando las características y variables específicas de la condición de migración de dichos estudiantes.

This research aimed to compare the differences in academic stress and social support between university students from the interior of the country who migrated to Lima for studies and those from Lima. There was a sample of 119 participants (70 from metropolitan Lima and 49 from the provinces). The instruments used were the SISCO SV-21 Inventory to measure academic stress and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), administered through social media. Regarding the results, significant differences were found between the Lima and provincial groups only in the social support provided by friends, with Lima students receiving higher social support. Additionally, when evaluating sociodemographic variables, it was found that academic stress and social support were more present among female students in both groups. These findings highlight the importance of continuing to study the topic among migrant students, with a broader sample size, and considering the specific characteristics and variables of these students' migration status.
