Abstract
This research, entitled "Effects of the application of the program" TAEL: training us to better understand "on morphological awareness and reading comprehension in children in 5th grade of primary school of a private school in the district Los Olivos" aims to demonstrate that the program "TAEL: Training us to understand better" influences the level of morphological awareness and reading comprehension in the students of 5th grade of primary school of a private school in the district Los Olivos. For this investigation, two instruments are identified: the first, the evaluation of Morphological Consciousness in Writing (IECME-Form A) by González, L. and Nicasio, J. (2007), which consists of 60 items, which analyze the production and morphological judgment; the second, the reading comprehension assessment test (ECLE-2) by Galve, J., Ramos, J., Dioses, A., Abregú, L & Alcántara, M. (2010), which was applied to the 49 items, which corresponds to the analysis of reading comprehension of narrative and expository texts. Likewise, the TAEL program was developed: Training us to better understand, to modify the level of morphological awareness and reading comprehension in children in 5th grade of primary school. A quasi-experimental design was used. After the application of the program, check that there are specific differences in the level of production and morphological judgment before and after. There is also a significant difference in the level of reading comprehension of expository texts before and after. Therefore, consider the TAEL program is effective for optimizing the level of morphological awareness and reading comprehension.
