Abstract
Ubiquitous technology has revolutionized education, giving rise to new educational models to address contemporary challenges. This shift underscores the importance of educational institutions integrating into the digital culture of students. The research aims to analyze the presence of digital culture among ninth-grade students during the development of specific mathematical objectives within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme at a private educational institution. In light of this, the specific objectives are to identify and describe the presence of this digital culture and to characterize the digital tools used within it. Therefore, the methodology employed is qualitative and descriptive, applying interview and non-participant observation instruments. The study's results concluded that, despite students' interest in integrating their digital culture and using familiar tools in math classes, they face limitations imposed by the institution. Nevertheless, they consider that they have developed diversified digital competencies, as they use various collaborative, creative and design, gamification, collaboration, and communication tools to achieve specific objectives in mathematics, developing skills such as problem-solving, knowledge transfer, and contextualization.
