Abstract
The drilling process inside a mine is one of the activities with the highest risk of accidents. It is important that the company has a solid management system for prevention and worker care. Have a base matrix that allows us to know the dangers and risks faced by this activity. The present investigation is descriptive due to the interpretation of data from different Raise Boring drilling operations, in this case there was a risk assessment of two scenarios where this type of underground drilling is applied. The main objective was to reduce the level of risk of exposure of workers when handling Raise Boring drill pipes, in order to increase the levels of prevention in the activities. To achieve this, a risk assessment was carried out with the implementation of an automated pipe bed into the operation. This technology reduces exposure to three significant dangers: handling heavy objects, repetitive movements and awkward postures. The elimination of these significant hazards will decrease the level of risk that workers face during the Raise Boring drilling process in underground mining. Furthermore, implementing this prevention system, using automatic pipe bed technology, not only reduces the exposure of workers, but also reduces the probability of accidents occurring, going from a high risk level to a low one.
