Abstract
El presente planeamiento estratégico propone las principales estrategias que
permitirán al sector industrial de la caña de azúcar en el Perú retomar el protagonismo en el
mercado global. Los cambios en los patrones de consumo y la creciente preocupación por el
medio ambiente plantean nuevos y distintos retos que deben ser tomados en cuenta en las
decisiones del sector.
Luego de largos períodos de inestabilidad y pobre desempeño, la industria de la caña
de azúcar en el Perú se encuentra en una posición expectante, con nuevos participantes y un
renovado ánimo de desarrollarse y competir. La utilización de la metodología del
Planeamiento Estratégico permite identificar el mejor camino para conseguir los objetivos
trazados. Dicho camino se compone de las estrategias que permitan capitalizar oportunidades,
evitar amenazas, aprovechar las fortalezas y mejorar en los puntos débiles
The present strategic planning proposes the main strategies that will allow the industrial sector of the sugar cane in Peru to regain the leading role in the global market. Changes in consumption patterns and growing concern about the environment pose new and different challenges that must be taken into account in sector decisions. After long periods of instability and poor performance, the sugarcane industry in Peru is in an expectant position, with new participants and a renewed spirit of development and competition. The use of the methodology of Strategic Planning allows identifying the best way to achieve the objectives outlined. This path consists of strategies that capitalize on opportunities, avoid threats, take advantage of strengths and improve on weak points
