Abstract
El sector salud en el Perú ha crecido al 18% anual desde el 2010, siendo las clínicas
privadas las de mayor facturación. En el sub-sector dental, las clínicas y franquicias son las
preferidas por los pacientes, debido a la imagen de servicios con valor agregado que
proyectan. En torno a ello, existe una demanda insatisfecha en el servicio de la salud buco
dental no solo en el Perú sino también a nivel mundial (Díaz, 2015), lo que ha generado que
muchos pacientes extranjeros decidan venir al Perú para someterse a tratamientos dentales, a
menor precio con la misma calidad que en su país de origen (Cóndor, 2015).
Doctor Sonrisa S.A.C, es una empresa que presta servicios odontológicos en la zona
norte de Lima Metropolitana, bajo la marca clínica Multident Norte, cuyo objetivo principal
es expandirse, y ser reconocida a nivel nacional por brindar servicios de calidad. Esta zona de
la ciudad se caracteriza por alto crecimiento demográfico e incremento de la población con
un nuevo estilo de vida, lo que incluye el cambio de cultura de la salud y belleza, lo cual
evidencia un alto potencial de crecimiento de mercado. Por un lado, la empresa cuenta con
oportunidades de mejora gracias al avance tecnológico en tratamientos odontológicos de
última generación que actualmente existe en el mercado, y por otro lado, la escasez de locales
o terrenos en lugares apropiados para el funcionamiento de una clínica dental es una
debilidad para la empresa que podría limitar su expansión y crecimiento.
En ese sentido, el presente plan plantea las siguientes estrategias: (a) penetración en
el mercado con incremento de infraestructura, (b) desarrollo de nuevos servicios dentales, (c)
desarrollo del mercado de pacientes extranjeros; (d) ofrecer mayor diversidad de servicios
odontológicos especializados y paquetes para dar más valor a los clientes, con precios
flexibles; (e) integración vertical hacia atrás con laboratorios médicos, para lograr respuestas
eficientes; y (f) ofrecer servicios de valor agregado con una marca propia, dejando de usar la
marca Multident en las nuevas sedes
The health sector in Peru has been growing at a rate of 18% since 2010, where the private health clinics with expansion and remodeling plans have been the ones with highest invoicing; and in the dental sector, the health clinics and franchises are the most preferred by the patients due to the service image with added value that they project. In that regard, there is an unmet demand in dental care services not only in Peru but also worldwide (Díaz, 2015), which has spawn many foreign patients to decide to come to Peru in order to undergo dental treatments, at a lower cost but with the same quality as in their original country (Cóndor, 2015). Doctor Sonrisa (Smile Doctor) Inc. is a company that provides dental services in the northern section of Lima, under the name of “Clínica Multident Norte”, whose main objective is to expand and to be recognized nationally and internationally for providing quality services. The northern section of Lima is characterized by the demographic growth and the increase of its population with a new life style and a culture change for health and beauty, which shows a high potential for market growth. On one hand, the company has upgrading opportunities thanks to the current technological progress in cutting edge dental treatments in the market, and on the other hand, the shortage of premises or pieces of land in proper locations for the operation of a dental clinic is a weakness for the company that may limit its expansion and growth. Consequently, this plan outlines the following strategies: (a) market penetration with an increase in infrastructure, (b) development of new dental services, (c) development of foreign pacients’ market, (d) offer larger diversity of specialized dentist services and packages to provide more value to customers; (e) vertical integration with medical laboratories to offer efficient service to patients, and (f) offer develop value added products using a private label, leaving Multident
