Abstract
monedas.
The objective of this research work is to analyze the production processes of the National Mint of Peru - CNM, in order to establish an improvement plan for its operations management. The National Mint of Peru is a state entity in charge of the manufacture of coins at the national level that, in accordance with the needs requested by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru - BCRP, complies with the monetary issue to ensure the continuous flow of currency. called “Circuit of Circulant”, necessary for the country's economic transactions. The CNM does not generate profits, so the improvement focuses on carrying out its operations through lean and flexible processes that reduce and control the production costs of the coins. Currently, the maximum that the unit manufacturing cost of circulating coins should reach is 90% of their nominal value. From the study carried out on the CNM, a non-profit state entity, which does not compete with other state entities, it is evident that its main problem is the high production costs of the coins, taking into account that the unit manufacturing cost does not It must exceed the face value of the coins and requires supporting the State by efficiently fulfilling the objective of contributing to national monetary stability. Consequently, possible solutions have been proposed and presented to the CNM deputy management, and after having carried out the evaluation, it has been identified that the solution to be implemented is the optimization of processes through the application of SMED, extended hours for preparation of machine and a maintenance plan based on reliability; likewise, the activities for execution and the necessary budget are established; From the analysis of the financial indicators, it is determined that the value of the TIR is 1503%, which is greater than the value of the discount rate or minimum rate of profitability that was proposed equal to 10%, the VAN is positive and equal to S/ 2,300,003.76 and the return on investment time is two months. In conclusion, the viability of the improvement plan is evident, which is in harmony with the company's objectives in relation to the efficiency and optimization of the coin manufacturing processes.
