Abstract
This research compares the perception of the manifestations of the paternal and maternal Care and Control dimensions, reported by a group of young university students from Andean cities, according to the sex of the students and parents. To this end, the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) was applied to 204 students between 16 to 23 years old. (M= 19.62; SD= 1.63). No significant differences were found in maternal and paternal Care and Control, reported by university men and women. Finally, the participants perceived greater Care from their mothers than from their fathers; however, they reported the same perception of maternal and paternal Control.
