La felicidad en hospitales del Minsa en Lima Metropolitana

Abstract
En la actualidad, el sector salud es uno de los más demandados en atención de servicios y,
a su vez, el más carente de recursos necesarios para cubrir esta demanda, siendo los médicos y
enfermeras (os), los trabajadores quienes cubren está necesidad, por ello es importante conocer
los niveles de felicidad de estos, con la finalidad de establecer planes de acción de mejora. La
presente investigación se enfoca en conocer los niveles de felicidad en los médicos y enfermeras
(os) que laboran en los hospitales del Minsa en Lima Metropolitana y el análisis de su relación
con variables tales como: (a) la edad, (b) el sexo, (c) el estado civil, (d) el número de hijos, (e) la
profesión, (f) los años de experiencia y (g) el rango salarial. La investigación es no experimental,
descriptiva y de enfoque cuantitativo realizado en una muestra de 294 encuestados, tomados de
una población total de 3,681 trabajadores. La recolección de la información se realiza mediante
la aplicación de encuestas, en las cuales se incluyó aspectos sociodemográficos y la escala The
Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Short-Form en español.
En relación con los resultados se tiene un nivel de felicidad moderado en los médicos y
enfermeras (os) que trabajan en los hospitales del Minsa en Lima Metropolitana. Las
características sociodemográficas de la muestra son variadas y no representan en su conjunto un
patrón característico. Las variables edad, sexo, estado civil y cantidad de hijos no representan
alguna característica determinante en el nivel de felicidad. Por el contrario, con relación a la
profesión, los médicos presentan un mayor nivel de felicidad que las (os) enfermeras (os).
Respecto a la rvariable años de experiencia laboral, los trabajadores con menos de 10 años
experiencia tienen una percepción mayor de felicidad. Asimismo, los profesionales con nivel
salarial más elevados presentan un nivel de felicidad mayor. Finalmente, ante los resultados, se
establecen recomendaciones a los Hospitales del Minsa.
Currently, the health sector is one of the most demanded in services and, at the same time, it deprives the necessary resources to above mentioned the demand, being the doctors and nurses, the workers who meet this need; this it is important to be aware of the levels of happiness of these persons in order to establish action plans for its improvement. The present research focuses on knowing the levels of happiness of the doctors and nurses working at the Minsa’s hospital in Metropolitan Lima and it analyses their relationship with some variables such as: (a) age, (b) sex, (c) marital status, (d) number of children, (e) profession, (f) years of experience and (g) salary range. The research is non-experimental, descriptive and quantitative in a sample of 294 respondents, taken from a total population of 3,681 workers. The collection of information is done through the application of surveys, which included sociodemographic aspects and the scale The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Short-Form in Spanish. In relation to the results, there is a moderate level of happiness in the doctors and nurses who work at the Minsa’s hospital in Metropolitan Lima. The sociodemographic characteristics of said sample vary and do not represent a pattern. The variables such as age, sex, marital status and the number of children does not represent any specific feature in the level of happiness. To the contrary, in relation to the profession, doctors have a higher level of happiness than nurses. Regarding the variable, years of experience, workers with less than 10 years of experience have a greater perception of happiness. Likewise, professionals with a higher salary level have a higher level of happiness. Finally, before the results recommendations to Minsa’s hospital are established.
