Abstract
Latin America faces a serious housing deficit, with Peru being the third country in the region with the highest deficit, according to INEI and the Ministry of Housing. In response to this problem, VIVASOLAR, a proposal that integrates solar panels into homes, has emerged. These panels not only generate electricity, but also provide water heating and optimize lighting. The application of Design Thinking has guided the design of solutions aligned with the real needs of homeowners. In the first year, VIVASOLAR plans to serve 122 homes, with an expected cumulative growth of 45% by the fifth year. In addition to the energy advantage, VIVASOLAR presents an environmentally friendly proposal. By the year 2027, homes with this technology could produce an average of 227,176kWh per year with an average annual savings of S/36,348.16. This saving not only benefits the environment, but also translates into savings for homeowners, reaching an average annual energy saving of S/63,572.25. VIVASOLAR is projected to be a profitable investment. The Present Value (NPV) of the project is estimated at S/ 4,401,622 and with a total investment of S/ 868,051.51, the Net Present Financial Value (Financial NPV) is projected at S/ 4,001,622. These numbers, taken together, paint a promising financial picture for the project. These figures, together with the projected growth in sales and the positive market reception, reflected in a conversion rate of 55%, position VIVASOLAR as an innovative and sustainable solution in response to the housing deficit in Peru. A social relevance index (SRI) of 53.33%, a social NPV, was estimated for five years and the Social Net Present Value (Social NPV) using a discount rate of 8% is calculated at S/ 251,286.65.
