Abstract
El cultivo de Kiwicha en la Región de Arequipa ha ido incrementándose anualmente,
y ha llegado a posicionar a Arequipa como la principal productora a nivel nacional (INEI,
2015). La producción principalmente se da en las provincias de Caylloma y la Unión
(Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, 2016). En su mayoría la Kiwicha producida es orgánica, lo
que le brinda una ventaja competitiva frente a las demás regiones productoras (BCRP, 2016).
Adicionalmente, la Kiwicha orgánica es la más solicitada a nivel internacional (Andina,
2017).
El presente plan estratégico, como se indica, busca, revisa y clasifica la información
relevante al proceso de cultivo de Kiwicha observa y analiza las tendencias del entorno en
cuanto a los productores regionales y mundiales, así como la industria nacional, competencia
directa e indirecta y la demanda nacional y mundial; evalúa el desempeño corporativo de las
unidades de negocio como son los agricultores, tanto las asociaciones como los que producen
individualmente; y finalmente lidera el proceso estratégico, el cual es un proceso interactivo e
iterativo
The cultivation of Kiwicha in the Region of Arequipa has been increasing annually, becoming the main producer at the national level (INEI, 2015). The production takes place in the provinces of Caylloma and the Union (Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, 2016). Most Kiwicha produced is organic, which gives it a competitive advantage over other producing regions (Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, 2016). In addition, organic Kiwicha is the most sought after internationally (Andina, 2017). The present strategic plan as the index seeks reviews and classifies information relevant to the Kiwicha cultivation process: observes and analyses trends in the environment in terms of regional and global producers, as well as domestic industry, direct and indirect competition and national and global demand; evaluates the corporate performance of the business units as farmers, both associations and those that produce individually; and finally, the strategic process is led, which is an interactive and iterative process
