Abstract
The issue of sedentarism in Peru has been intensified in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to an alarming prevalence of non-communicable diseases and obesity among the population. The decline in physical activity, with its related health risks both physical and mental, has been illustrated through numerous studies and data. Despite the clear links between inactivity and various diseases and institutional recommendations to increase physical activity, obstacles such as lack of accessibility to sports spaces and difficulties in coordinating group physical activities persist, inhibiting the adoption of a healthier lifestyle among Peruvian citizens. The proposed solution to this issue is the creation of the mobile application Connect Sport, a platform that allows searching for and connecting people who share the same sports preferences, to arrange meetings for the practice of the selected sport. Connect Sport facilitates the search, reservation, and payment of sports spaces, using current technologies and digital tools, acting quickly and flexibly between private sports space providers (clients) and those who practice sports (final users). The desirability of the application was subjected to a validation process with the users, obtaining positive results that confirmed the hypotheses. It verified that users would be willing to use it and the providers of sports spaces would be willing to pay a commission of 8% for the application. reservation service and payment made through the application. Finally, a financial and social impact evaluation was carried out, concluding that Connect Sport generates economic value, is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and satisfies the needs of users and customers, generating a NPV of S/ 3,263,276, an IRR of 204% and a social VAN of S/ 7,997,843.
