Abstract
El Hotel La Cuesta de Cayma es una organización sin fines de lucro con 13 años
en el mercado, este emprendimiento tiene un único local que se encuentra en la ciudad de
Arequipa y atiende principalmente a viajeros de Negocio y turistas tanto nacionales como
internacionales. Esta organización destina parte de las utilidades de su operación para
favorecer a 18 instituciones benéficas en la ciudad de Arequipa. El Hotel la Cuesta de
Cayma se enfoca en dar un trato cordial y profesional por parte de su equipo de
colaboradores compuesto por 22 personas.
El presente trabajo busca realizar un análisis del desempeño interno y el contexto
en el que se desarrolla el Hotel la Cuesta de Cayma en función de este análisis se
identificaron problemas como: (a) la concentración de funciones de gestión y la falta de
buenas prácticas de gobierno corporativo, (b) la falta de procesos de gestión
estandarizados, (c) falta de implementación de los Estándares GRI de manera adecuada y
(d) la ausencia de una estrategia adecuada para responder a un cambio en el contexto
socioeconómico. De afrontarse estos problemas desde una perspectiva de búsqueda del
valor compartido la organización lograría implementar cambios sustantivos que le ayuden
a lograr sostenibilidad de su propuesta de valor en el tiempo. Como resultado de la
evaluación se propone un plan de mejora basado en un cambio de la estrategia
organizacional el cual se enfoque en (a) atender las necesidades y expectativas del cliente
y sus partes interesadas, así como (b) un plan de mejora de los procesos internos y (c) el
uso anual del reporte de sostenibilidad GRI como herramienta para la gestión y
seguimiento de este plan. Estos cambios propuestos están orientados a lograr que la
empresa sea sostenible en el tiempo, mejore su estrategia y obtenga resultados
evidenciables en un horizonte de 5 años.
La Cuesta de Cayma Hotel is a non-profit organization with 13 years old in the market. This venture, located in the city of Arequipa, offer a hosting service to national and international travelers. This organization benefits 18 charities in the city with the profits obtained from its operation. The team of 22 hotel collaborators is focused on a cordial and professional treatment by its team of collaborators. The present work analyzes the internal performance and the entire environment of the business. The analysis identified problems such as: (a) the concentration of management functions and the lack of good management practices corporate governance, (b) the lack of standardized management processes, and (c) the absence of an adequate strategy to respond to a change in the socioeconomic context. To achieve sustainability over time, the organization should implement substantive changes from a shared value search perspective. As a result of the evaluation, this paper proposes an improvement plan to change the organizational strategy, this plan is focuses on (a) meeting the needs and expectations of the client and its stakeholders, as well as (b) an improvement plan for the internal processes and (c) the annual use of the GRI sustainability report as a tool for managing and monitoring this plan. These proposed changes are aimed at making the company sustainable over time, improving its strategy and obtaining evident results over a 5-year horizon.
