Abstract
The main purpose of this research was to determine if there are differences respecting the morphosyntactic component of language, specifically respecting the Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) and the presence of grammatical elements in children from 4 years to 4 years 11 months of age who study in a private educational institution and a public educational institution located in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho. The population was made up of 50 children, from which a sample of 20 children from both sexes was selected. The study was of a comparative descriptive type and the technique “Linguistic playtime” was applied for data collection. To obtain the results, the T Student test was applied to independent samples, which showed there are no significant differences in the Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) or in the presence of grammatical elements except in the adverbs category in the language of 4-year-old children from a public educational institution and a private educational institution from the San Juan de Lurigancho district.
