Resumen
El objetivo de la presente investigación es identificar la relación entre las competencias
parentales de padres de Lima Metropolitana de niños en edad preescolar (3-5 años) con la
regulación emocional. Se utilizó la Escala de Parentalidad Positiva 2da edición (E2P V.2) de
Gómez y Contreras (2019), y el Cuestionario Emotion Regulation Checklist de Shields y
Cicchetti (1997). Estos se aplicaron en una muestra de 111 padres (31.53%) y madres (68.47%)
con edades entre 19 y 53 años (M = 35.6, DE = 7.1). Los resultados mostraron una relación
positiva entre ambas variables, así como diferencias significativas en las competencias
vinculares, las competencias formativas y labilidad emocional en función de la variable género
de los cuidadores. Asimismo, las dimensiones de competencias parentales vinculares y
formativas resultaron predictoras de la regulación emocional.
The objective of the present research is to identify the relationship between the parental competencies of parents from Metropolitan Lima with preschool-aged children (3-5 years) and emotional regulation. The Positive Parenting Scale 2nd edition (E2P V.2) by Gómez and Contreras (2019) and the Emotion Regulation Checklist Questionnaire by Shields and Cicchetti (1997) were used. They were applied to a sample of 111 fathers (31.53%) and mothers (68.47%) aged between 19 and 53 years (M = 35.6, SD = 7.1). The results showed a positive relationship between both variables, as well as significant differences in relational competencies, formative competencies, and emotional lability based on the caregivers' gender variable. In addition, parental relational and formative competencies dimensions were found to be predictors of emotion regulation.
