Abstract
El Índice de Progreso Social (IPS) expone la medición del desarrollo social a nivel de
países, regiones, provincias, distritos con indicadores sociales y ambientales, mostrando los
niveles de acceso de atenciones de salud, acceso a educación de calidad, cuidado del medio
ambiente, igualdad de oportunidades; cuyo resultado de medición, sirva a los entes del sector
público y privado, así como a la sociedad civil a priorizar dentro de sus agendas políticas el
velar por la calidad de vida y de crear las condiciones para que todas las personas alcancen su
pleno potencial.
De acuerdo a ello, la presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal medir el
IPS de la provincia de Nasca y en base a ello conocer el IPS de la dimensión de Necesidades
Humanas Básicas, Fundamentos de Bienestar y Oportunidades. La investigación emplea la
metodología científica, siendo una investigación cuantitativa, descriptiva, no experimental y
transaccional, que usó como herramienta la metodología del Social Progress Imperative, cuyo
instrumento cuestionario fue proporcionado por CENTRUM PUCP, el mismo que fue
procesado y analizado mediante modelos estadísticos que aseguren su validez y confiabilidad.
El análisis se estructuró por dimensiones, componentes de cada una de las zonas compuestos
por los distritos de la provincia de Nasca.
Los resultados de la investigación indican que la provincia de Nasca alcanzó un IPS
de 57.65 que lo califica como de nivel de progreso social medio bajo, el cual refleja las
deficiencias de implementación de planes de desarrollo social sostenibles en el tiempo que
garanticen el bienestar y la calidad de vida en la provincia de Nasca.
The Social Progress Index (IPS) shows the measurement of social development at the level of countries, regions, provinces, districts with social and environmental indicators, showing the levels of access to health care, access to quality education, care of the environment , equal opportunities; whose measurement result serves public and private sector entities, as well as civil society to prioritize within their political agendas to ensure the quality of life and create the conditions for all people to reach their full potential. Accordingly, the main objective of this research is to measure the IPS of the Nasca province and, based on this, to know the IPS of the dimension of Basic Human Needs, Foundations of Well-being and Opportunities. The research uses scientific methodology, being a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental and transactional research, which used the Social Progress Imperative methodology, whose questionnaire instrument was provided by CENTRUM PUCP, which was processed and analyzed using statistical models that ensure its validity and reliability. The analysis was structured by dimensions, components of each of the zones made up of the districts of the Nasca province. The results of the investigation indicate that the province of Nasca reached an IPS of 57.65, which qualifies it as a medium-low level of social progress, which reflects the deficiencies in the implementation of sustainable social development plans over time that guarantee well-being and quality of life in the Nasca province.
