Abstract
This research aims to explore the relation between culture of honor, emotional intelligence and couple satisfaction in men and women students of a police school located in Lima. For this purpose, this research was based on a quantitative methodology (N=306), which allowed to explore the relation between the quoted variables’ dimensions. The results suggest that higher scores in the culture of honor dimensions presents a positive correlation with higher scores in emotional intelligence dimensions, which could be related to the legitimation of violence towards social norms non-compliance. Further, we found a negative relation between the dimensions of culture of honor and couple satisfaction. Finally, considering the stablished set of sociodemographic variables, it was proved that the existing differences in the group of study seem to be determined by the following: religion, whether they are coupled or not and the level of academic degree.
