Abstract
Our country is rich in biological diversity, and approximately 27.89% of its GDP is based on foreign sales (exports). These are the foundations of the products marketed by ECOMPAL SAC, a medium-sized Peruvian company. Its organic products, particularly the rotenone formulation, have been commercialized by the company since June of last year. Due to an increase in demand for one of its inputs, the profitability of this product has decreased, posing a problem for the organization. The purpose of this research is to conduct a consultancy for the company, analyzing the problems it faces, especially regarding the decrease in profitability of the mentioned product. As a solution to this problem, the implementation of a new production line of essential oils is proposed. This will allow the company to backward integrate and expand its product portfolio. In addition to this, improvements in processes and employee training are suggested to enhance the organization's performance. It is projected that ECOMPAL will experience a notable 11% increase in profitability, an achievement driven by operational efficiencies resulting from the strategic transition to cease purchasing and start internal production of essential oils. This carefully grounded decision not only implies a significant improvement in cost management but also represents a strategic step positioning the company to face market challenges more resiliently. By undertaking this transformation, ECOMPAL not only aims for the optimization of its operations but also seeks to strengthen its competitive position and foster sustainable growth in the sector.
