Abstract
La presente investigación busca identificar la relación entre Vínculo parental a partir de las
dimensiones Cuidado y Sobreprotección con Agencia personal y el Empoderamiento en
estudiantes de una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana. Asimismo, a nivel
específico se explora la existencia de diferencias en el Vínculo parental según la variable
sexo, la posible relación de la Agencia Personal y el Empoderamiento con características
académicas como facultad y ciclo académico, y la relación entre Agencia Personal y
Empoderamiento con la participación en grupos de bienestar estudiantil. Para este fin, se
aplicó el Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) y la Escala para medir Agencia Personal y
Empoderamiento (ESAGE) a 150 universitarios de 18-25 años (M = 20.4, D.E. = 1.8) de
ambos sexos donde 47.3% eran mujeres. Se obtuvo correlaciones directas entre la escala
Cuidado en ambos padres con Agencia Personal y Empoderamiento, mientras que la escala
Sobreprotección en ambos padres correlacionó inversamente con Agencia Personal. En
específico, se encontró que las mujeres mostraron mayores niveles en la subescala Cuidado
Paterno que los hombres; los estudiantes de Derecho tuvieron mayor Agencia Personal y
Empoderamiento que los estudiantes de Ingeniería; hay relación directa entre Agencia
Personal y ciclo académico y los alumnos que participaron en grupos de bienestar
estudiantil presentan mayor Empoderamiento que los que no participaron. La discusión
gira en torno a los resultados de la presente investigación en el ámbito de la educación
superior.
The following research seeks to identify the relationship between Parental bondingthrough the scales Care and Overprotection- and Personal agency and Empowerment in students from a private university in Lima. Moreover, at a specific level, the relationships between Personal agency and Empowerment with academic traits such as faculty and academic semester are explored. The differences in Parental bonding between females and males are also identified. Furthermore, the relationship between Personal agency and Empowerment with the active participation in a student welfare group is explored. For that purpose, Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) and Personal Agency and Empowerment Scale (ESAGE) were applied to 150 university students aged 18-25 years (M = 20.4, S.D. = 1.8) of both sexes where 47.3% were females. The results show direct correlations between PBI Care in both parents with Personal Agency and Empowerment. Additionally, Overprotection show an inverse correlation with Personal Agency. In addition, females show higher levels of Paternal Care than males; Law students show more Personal Agency and Empowerment than Engineer students; and there is a direct correlation between Personal Agency and academic semester. Finally, students that participated in groups for student welfare show more Empowerment than those who did not. The discussion develops the results of the present investigation in the field of the higher education.
