This research addresses the issue of the development of critical thinking, the ability we have to analyze the information we receive, which is an essential skill that helps young people have a better understanding of themselves, their thoughts, the world and their place in it as people. However, it has been found at the roots of this problem that the lesser development of critical thinking is connected to the lack of educational resources with a philosophy focus, since this discipline is not obligatory within the school curriculum, the group that faces the consequences of this are university students between the ages of 18 and 22, whom need these skills for their academic and personal development. The existing resources aimed at this audience, in the Peruvian context, tend to be outdated, very complex/theory heavy or in inaccessible formats. Through graphic design, it’s proposed that complementary educational material can be accessible, dynamic and interesting for a young adult audience with the use of contemporary visual aesthetics, graphics and a narrative that focuses on seeing how philosophy can relate to experiences in their everyday lives, encouraging reflection through questioning and rumination. The project “Habla Sophya” seeks to create an open space that invites young people to analyze and critique different topics and understand themselves better through learning with the goal of teaching them to think critically about the world and their own opinions, so they are capable of making their own conclusions.
