Abstract

The results of the study suggest that Lambayeque has an advantage in resources to combine nature endowed with cultural heritage, making it attractive in order to have a different approach to the tourist. It also has development opportunities, such as the lack of evening entertainment, low quantity of hotels, and inadequate management of the sector, among others. Furthermore the results suggest continuing problems of sanitation and garbage collection, as well as the low perception of security that causes lack of development in the tourism of the region. The importance of the study lies in the diagnosis that is made of the main factors affecting the tourism sector and that reveal the advantages and disadvantages in order to provide high quality tourism
