Abstract
The main objective of this investigation is to provide a tool that allows to early detect pragmatic language difficulties in children ages 4 to 6. Therefore, this Pragmatic Language Difficulties Screening Protocol for Preschool Teachers was created, measuring its psychometric properties through content validity by judging criteria, constructing validity, discrimination index and liability. In order to validate this useful instrument, 15 preschool teachers from a private school in the district of La Molina were asked to answer the protocols that corresponded to the students in each of their classrooms, evaluating up to 242 boys and girls. The results showed evidence of construct validity and content, internal consistency liability and discriminative capacity of all items of the instrument. Furthermore, it provided evidence enough to sustain that the pragmatic capabilities of children increase according to their age, and sex makes no difference whatsoever.
