Abstract
En este sentido, la presente tesina pretende dar una primera aproximación a este tema;
Although there are various works on the participation of parents in early childhood education, these are concentrated, above all, in urban areas to the detriment of rural areas of our country. Even more so if they belong to the Andean region. In this sense, this thesis aims to give a first approach to this topic; and, for this purpose, we use a documentary methodology: in the first part of our work, we address the definition and forms of parental participation, its importance, and the factors that condition it; In the second part, information was collected on participation in the Andean rural context. This allowed us to conclude that the low academic level of parents hinders the support and accompaniment they provide to their children in school tasks. However, this does not prevent the interaction of parents from being active and permanent, whether in educational institutions or out-of-school programs such as PRONOEI. In summary, the importance of this thesis lies in the fact that it shows forms of participation that are not limited to the usual ones, but that there are own ways of getting involved in initial education developed by parents in these areas.
