Abstract
In times of changes in the conceptions and practices of motherhood and the clear rise of women to the high spheres of political power, it is necessary to ask what space these concomitant realities occupy in female identities and what are the relationships interwoven between maternal experience and political activity in the subjectivity of these women. In search for the answer to these questions, 6 women who have held positions of high national political responsibility, members of different political parties and belonging to different age groups have been interviewed. As a result, 3 ways of interaction are revealed: separate spheres, spheres in conflict and spheres in negotiation.
