emociones, respectivamente.
The objective of this research was to explore the relationship between the parental dimensions of responsiveness, demand, monitoring and psychological control, and emotional dysregulation in adolescents from a private educational institution in Metropolitan Lima. To this end, 394 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 (M = 13.56, SD = 1.06) were evaluated. Parenting dimensions were assessed using the Brief Parenting Scale (EPB) and the Psychological Control Scale (disrespect), and emotional dysregulation using the Peruvian adaptation of the Difficulties in Emotional Regulation Scale (DERS). The results were in line with what was expected, showing a negative relationship between the Responsiveness dimension and emotional dysregulation; as well as a positive relationship between the Psychological Control dimension and emotional dysregulation. Also, negative, albeit small, correlations were found between the Monitoring and Demand dimensions with the Absence of Emotional Alertness subscale. Similarly, the Maternal Demand dimension was negatively and poorly correlated with the Impulse Control Difficulty subscale. Furthermore, differences were found between the perceived levels of the Psychological Control dimension according to the sex of the caregiver, identifying that adolescents perceive that mothers exercise higher levels of this practice. Finally, differences were observed between the levels of Monitoring and emotional dysregulation, according to the sex of the adolescent, with male adolescents perceiving greater monitoring and female adolescents having greater difficulty regulating their emotions, respectively.
