Resumen
Mayo Apps es una aplicación móvil que conecta al Canal Moderno con los
consumidores finales para comercializar productos que están cerca de su fecha de
vencimiento a precios con descuento. Esta innovación tecnológica genera un impacto social y
ambiental favorable, lo que la convierte en una solución viable para mitigar los efectos
adversos asociados con el desperdicio de productos alimenticios. Asimismo, el modelo de
contribuye a genera ahorros económicos para el Canal Moderno y consumidores finales
pertenecientes a los estratos socioeconómicos B y C de Lima Metropolitana. La deseabilidad
del modelo de negocio se ha corroborado mediante una iniciativa de investigación integral
que incluyó encuestas y entrevistas con posibles socios estratégicos y/o clientes de Canal
Moderno B2B. Adicionalmente, las encuestas realizadas a los consumidores finales B2C han
confirmado que el modelo responde a una necesidad genuina y se presenta atractivo para el
mercado objetivo designado. Los resultados de estas investigaciones han arrojado datos que
respaldan la viabilidad y el éxito potencial del aplicativo en el mercado.
El modelo empresarial demuestra un compromiso con la responsabilidad social, lo
cual se evidencia con un VAN social de S/ 10'662,811, confirmando que Mayo Apps está
alineado con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) número 12 que aboga por la
«producción y el consumo responsable», y el número 13, que promueve la «acción
climática». Además, el modelo es financieramente rentable, alcanzando un VAN de
S/ 2’ 834,013.05 y una Tasa Interna de Retorno de 182% que supera significativamente la
tasa de descuento para los cinco años proyectados. La solidez de estas métricas financieras,
junto con los indicadores de sostenibilidad, posicionan a Mayo Apps como una oportunidad
de inversión atractiva que promete un impacto positivo en la sociedad y el medio ambiente.
Mayo Apps is a mobile application that connects the Modern Channel with end consumers to market products that are close to their expiration date at discounted prices. This technological innovation generates a favorable social and environmental impact, making it a viable solution to mitigate the adverse effects associated with the waste of food products. Likewise, the model contributes to generating economic savings for the Modern Channel and end consumers belonging to the B and C socioeconomic strata of Metropolitan Lima. The desirability of the business model has been corroborated through a comprehensive research initiative that included surveys and interviews with potential strategic partners and/or B2B Modern Channel clients. Additionally, surveys conducted with B2C end consumers have confirmed that the model responds to a genuine need and is attractive to the designated target market. The results of these investigations have yielded data that support the viability and potential success of the application in the market. The business model demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility, which is evidenced by a social NPV of S/ 10,662,811, confirming that Mayo Apps is aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) number 12, which advocates for “responsible production and consumption,” and number 13, which promotes “climate action.” In addition, the model is financially profitable, reaching a NPV of S/ 2,834,013.05 and an Internal Rate of Return of 182%, which significantly exceeds the discount rate for the projected five years. The strength of these financial metrics, together with the sustainability indicators, position Mayo Apps as an attractive investment opportunity that promises a positive impact on society and the environment.
