This study aimed to understand the meaning attributed to the Bahá’í Temple of South America by those who visit it regularly, and to explore how it might influence their spiritual practices and beliefs. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews with twelve individuals, who were selected based on frequency of visit and diversity of backgrounds. Thematic analysis identified significant dimensions associated with the architecture and environment of the Temple, the spiritual experience, introspection, community service, and the re-signification of religion’s role in contemporary society. The findings of this research suggest that the Temple is perceived by the interviewees as a place of spiritual haven that facilitates ethical reflection, interaction with others, and a connection with principles considered universal, beyond religious affiliation. Likewise, an influence is observed on the ways of praying, conceiving service and making commitments linked to the common good, which are interpreted as significant expressions of spirituality. This thesis seeks to contribute to a broader understanding of religious places as active social spaces that could respond to spiritual aspirations present in contemporary society, particularly in contexts of diversity of beliefs, changes in ways of expressing spirituality, and the search for meaning and connection.
