Resumen
La presente tesis aborda la optimización del proceso de producción de aceite refinado de
pescado en la planta de DSM Marine Lipids Peru S.A.C. en Piura. La investigación resulta
pertinente debido a la necesidad de optimizar la eficiencia operativa y reducir los desperdicios
asociados a sobreproducción, exceso de inventario, transporte y tiempos de espera,
problemas identificados mediante el mapeo de flujo de valor (VSM). El objetivo principal es
implementar herramientas de mejora continua como TPM, Kaizen, 5S y producción continua
para optimizar la cadena de valor, desde el aprovisionamiento del aceite crudo hasta el
despacho del producto terminado. El enfoque metodológico es sistémico, basándose en la
recopilación de datos internos de la empresa y el análisis de los procesos operativos. Entre
los resultados obtenidos se destacan incrementos en la capacidad productiva de la etapa de
neutralizado, la reducción del lead time y el tiempo de valor agregado, así como una
significativa disminución de los costos operativos mediante la adopción de producción
continua. La conclusión principal es que la integración entre las metodologías de mejora ha
permitido mejorar la capacidad de producción, reducir costos y elevar la productividad integral
del proceso, lo que refuerza la competitividad y sostenibilidad de la planta en el mercado.
Además, se resalta la importancia de integrar la mejora continua dentro de la planificación
estratégica para garantizar un crecimiento sostenible y la adaptación continua a los desafíos
y oportunidades del sector.
This thesis focuses on optimizing the refined fish oil production process at DSM Marine Lipids Peru S.A.C. in Piura. The study is relevant due to the need to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste linked to overproduction, excessive inventory, transportation, and waiting times, issues identified through Value Stream Mapping (VSM). The primary goal is to apply continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous production to optimize the value chain, from raw oil procurement to finished product delivery. A systemic methodological approach was adopted, relying on the collection of internal company data and the analysis of operational processes. Key outcomes include increased production capacity in the neutralization stage, reduced lead time and added value time, and a notable reduction in operating costs through the adoption of continuous production. The key finding is that combining these improvement methodologies has enhanced production capacity, lowered costs, and improved overall process productivity, thereby strengthening the plant's competitiveness and sustainability. Additionally, the study emphasizes the importance of embedding continuous improvement within strategic planning to ensure sustainable growth and ongoing adaptation to industry challenges and opportunities.
