Abstract
La investigación analiza el uso de Twitter por parte de los periodistas de la Agencia Andina
durante la cobertura periodística del Mundial de Fútbol 2014 y la recaptura del empresario
Martín Belaunde Lossio, investigado por los presuntos delitos de lavado de activos,
asociación ilícita y peculado. Ambos casos de cobertura fueron los más destacados en Lima,
Perú entre el 2014 y 2015 en cuanto a temas políticos y deportivo.
Lo cierto es que el flujo del trabajo del periodista ha cambiado y ahora incluye el hallazgo,
verificación y presentación de contenido publicado por fuentes oficiales y ciudadanos en
plataformas virtuales como Twitter para la producción de noticias.
Para conocer las características de la producción de noticias con información de Twitter en
los casos de estudio se recurrió al análisis de contenido, así como a entrevistas a periodistas
de la Agencia Andina, y especialistas en redes sociales de medios de comunicación de
referencia para reconocer buenas prácticas.
La hipótesis, confirmada en el presente trabajo, es que la Agencia Andina recurre a esta red
social principalmente para dar cobertura a noticias de último minuto con datos
proporcionados por fuentes oficiales. La conclusión es que la producción de noticias se
podrá incrementar con una mayor variedad de fuentes de información en línea
The research analyzes how journalists at Andina news agency use Twitter during the media coverage of the World Cup 2014 and the recapture of businessman Martin Belaunde Lossio, investigated by the alleged crimes of money laundering, illicit association and embezzlement. Both cases were highlighted coverages in Lima, Peru between 2014 and 2015 in political and sports issues. The fact is the workflow has changed and now includes the search, verification and presentation of information from virtual sources (not only official accounts) into the news production. In order to identify the characteristics of the news production with information of Twitter in both cases, the author used analysis of content, as well as interviews with journalists from Andina news agency, and specialists in social media of reference media to get good practices. The hypothesis, confirmed in this research, is Andina’s news agency journalists use this social network mainly to cover breaking news with data provided by official sources. The conclusion is that news production can be increased with the addition of different online sources.
