The objective of this research was to analyze the process of resilience and community empowerment in six women from the Board of Directors of a community kitchen in Northern Lima. This organization, founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, currently benefits 111 people in their neighborhood. Six semi-structured individual interviews were conducted to explore their personal narratives, involvement in the community kitchen, resilience strategies, and the community empowerment emerging from their interactions with institutions. The results revealed three main themes: the initial adaptation and formalization of the community kitchen, the construction of a united and organized community, and the interaction with authorities. The community kitchen emerged as a resilient organization in the process of community empowerment. Resilience was evidenced by the women's ability to organize and obtain essential resources in the face of adversity, enabling them to sustain and evolve to the present day. In terms of empowerment, although still in progress, the women have gained visibility and assumed key roles within their community. However, challenges such as the equitable distribution of power and reliance on clientelist relationships remain. This study highlights the importance of community kitchens as spaces of resistance and social transformation, underscoring the crucial role of women in community development.
