Obesidad y discriminación en las relaciones laborales. A propósito del COVID-19

Abstract
La presente investigación pretende dilucidar si las medidas de protección brindadas a
los trabajadores con obesidad, como parte del grupo de riesgo, frente a la COVID-19,
son realmente son medidas de protección o no. Se analiza si esta patología se convirtió
en un motivo de discriminación laboral para quienes la padecen. El contraste se realizó en base a una encuesta aplicada a un grupo de empleadores sobre las medidas adoptadas en la práctica laboral.
La obesidad se constituye como un factor de riesgo en el mundo del trabajo, en especial en Perú, debido a su creciente presencia entre la población trabajadora. El estudio
previene sobre la importancia que el estado y los empleadores adopten medidas que no
discriminen en el acceso ni en la permanencia en el empleo formal.
This research aims to elucidate whether the protection measures provided to workers with obesity, as part of the risk group, to prevent them from COVID-19, are really protection measures or not. It is analyzed whether this pathology became a reason for labor discrimination for those who suffer from this disease. The contrast was made based on a survey applied to a group of employers on the measures adopted in labor practice. Obesity is constituted as a risk factor in the world of work, especially in Peru, due to its growing presence among the working population. The study warns about the importance that the state and employers adopt measures that do not discriminate in access or permanence in formal employment.
