Abstract
The promotion of Mariculture in Peru is very important, if we want to bring our marine products to international markets, consequently to compete with other countries engaged in this activity; however the mariculture growth in the country is still slow, resulted in increase of 4% annually. The United States is the country with the highest demand for the species from mariculture, and to cover this demand would represent an international position as a maricultor country. In these hand, this strategic plan is presented for the Mariculture Sector in Peru in order to make it available to: (a) Ministry of Production, as the main governing body and promoter of the sector in our country, (b) National Fund Fisheries Development, as dedicated to research and experimental development level of aquaculture species of Peru, (c) Peruvian Sea Institute, institute dedicated to the investigation of marine products of the country. The strategic plan has as vision is to be in 2026, the first exporter of fish farmed of high quality, in compliance with regulated sanitary standards, to be generator of value in exporting it with social and environmental responsibility. To achieve this recognition, the export of fish should be promoted, through the development of technified mariculture, which will improve the quality of food for consumers, articulating private enterprise and differents levels of government. So it is concluded that Peru has the indispensable resources to develop the mariculture sector leading it to foreign markets, and in this way to evolve the mariculture industry in Peru and to be global benchmarks in this sector
