Abstract
garantiza beneficios sustanciales a largo plazo.
This project presents an innovative proposal to tackle childhood anemia in Peru through "Fruta Férrea," a natural jam enriched with iron, designed for children aged two to five years. It is made from blueberries, selected for their antioxidant properties and composition rich in vitamins and minerals, and chicken blood, due to its high content of bioavailable iron. Additionally, dates and stevia are used as natural sweeteners. The dates provide fiber, improving the digestive system and preventing constipation. Anemia affects 21% of children in this age range, impairing their cognitive and physical development, and increasing their susceptibility to diseases. The product aligns with SDGs 2 and 3, which aim to eradicate hunger and promote health and well-being. The jam has proven to be delicious and well-accepted by both children and their parents, which has been validated through tests conducted at the Laboratory of Universidad Agraria La Molina and through tastings with children undergoing anemia treatment at the Mi Perú Health Center in the district of Mi Perú, in the Constitutional Province of Callao, who were accompanied by their parents. With an initial investment of S/ 220,711.00, a projected NPV of S/ 6’089,630.31 and an IRR of 327% is expected, generating a social NPV of S/ 6’007,881.46. The Social Relevance Index (SRI) for SDG 2 is 63% and for SDG 3 is 31%, reflecting an outstanding return on investment and ensuring substantial long-term benefits. This project, in addition to significantly contributing to improving children's health by combating anemia, also ensures solid financial profitability, positioning the jam as a valuable proposal from both a social and economic perspective.
