Abstract
This research aims to establish the relationship between the Well Being and the Humor Styles of a group of women inmates of a minimum security jail of Lima. To do this, we evaluated 76 inmates from age 18 to age 60 (M = 30.35, SD = 9) using the Scales of Well Being, Flourishing and Spane, elaborated by Diener, Lucas, and Oishi (2009) and the Humor Style Questionnaire (HSQ) elaborated by Martin, Puhlik-Doris, Larsen, Gray and Weir (2003). We found that positives styles of humor correlate positively with Positive Spane and Flourishing. Similarly, we observed a greater presence of positive values than negative values on both scales of the descriptive statistic”. In addition, the specific objective was to analyze the sociodemographic variables, of which legal situation, level of education, and months of imprisonment seemed to influence some of the scales.
