Abstract

During the decades between 1980 and 2000, Peru experienced years of political violence product of the internal armed conflict that took place in the country. Having already spent some years since the completion of the period of violence, there are still questions about how persons directly affected (and the country as a whole) has recovered from the experience. In this context is where the idea appeared to implement the present investigation, which aimed to describe and understand, using psychoanalytic theory, the mental processes involved in the construction of a post-conflict memory. With this purpose and under the qualitative paradigm, the cases of two women who lived near the ravages of violence are explored. From conversations which involved meetings, in-depth interviews and observations, it was to develop the four thematic analysis that focused on the narrative of memories, the place of another with whom you remember, the symbolic and the irrepresentable. Finally, we sought to provide an integrated analysis reading, identifying elements involved in the construction of post-conflict memory.
