Abstract
Packaging Products del Perú S.A., fundada en 1969, es una empresa peruana
especializada en la producción y comercialización de tapas corona para botellas de bebidas y
envases de hojalata para alimentos y productos industriales, tanto para el mercado nacional como
internacional, siendo reconocida dentro del mercado por sus altos estándares de calidad y
enfoque en el cliente. La empresa ha recibido múltiples premios por su innovación y excelencia,
al investigar y desarrollar varios productos en la industria metalúrgica como la tapa corona más
delgada y ecológica del mundo, la misma que ha sido patentada en más de ochenta y seis países a
nivel mundial.
La consultoría desarrollada para Packaging Products del Perú S.A. tiene como objetivo
identificar los problemas que afecten su sostenibilidad y plantear soluciones, para ello se han
efectuado reuniones con el directorio, gerencia y áreas clave de la compañía y se ha analizado
información financiera y operativa de los últimos cinco (5) años, como Estados Financieros
Auditados, reportes de producción, ventas, costos, gastos operativos y financieros, así como sus
flujos de caja corriente y proyectados. Producto de estos análisis, se determinó que el problema
que afecta la sostenibilidad de la compañía es el riesgo inminente de quiebra, lo que representa
un grave desafío financiero pues pone en peligro su continuidad operativa.
Identificado el riesgo inminente que afecta a la compañía, el equipo consultor determinó
que considerando las dificultades financieras y operativas por las que viene atravesando, la
solución para ello es una combinación de tres acciones clave: 1. Establecer alianzas
estratégicas con socios potenciales, 2. Implementar una reestructuración financiera y 3.-
Implementar una segmentación de negocios de la compañía, mediante la creación de una
filial enfocada en la innovación. Los dos primeros puntos abordan aspectos financieros y
operativos inmediatos, mientras que el tercer punto a través de una nueva unidad de negocio se
fomenta el crecimiento a largo plazo mediante de la innovación.
Para el planteamiento de las soluciones, en la investigación de mercado realizada por el
equipo consultor, respecto a las capacidades y ofertas de productos de Packaging Products S.A.,
se ha identificado mercados y segmentos no explotados, lo que representa una gran oportunidad
de poder incursionar en ellos, aprovechamiento mejor su infraestructura y optimizando la
utilización de recursos, con ello será posible atender una demanda de una base de clientes y
sectores más amplia, incrementando sus ingresos y su participación en el mercado.
Packaging Products del Perú S.A. ha tomado la decisión de implementar las soluciones
propuestas, como parte de ello ha iniciado negociaciones para una alianza estratégica con un
productor de alimentos húmedos para mascotas propuesto por el equipo de consultoría,
marcando un paso crucial hacia futuras alianzas, al mismo tiempo el equipo legal de la compañía
ha iniciado los análisis legales para la creación de la filial enfocada en la innovación y el
departamento financiero a iniciado la búsqueda de un profesional o compañía especializada en
negociaciones y reestructuración financiera.
En conclusión, la consultoría desarrollada ofrece recomendaciones accionables para
abordar los desafíos financieros y operativos, aprovechando las oportunidades de crecimiento
para asegurar la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de la compañía.
Packaging Products del Perú S.A., founded in 1969, is a Peruvian company specializing in the production and sale of crown caps for beverage bottles and tin containers for food and industrial products, both for the local and international market, has been recognized within the market for its high-quality standards and customer-focused approach. The company has received multiple awards for its innovation and excellence, by researching and developing various products in the metal industry such as the thinnest and most ecological crown caps in the world, which have been patented in more than eighty-six countries worldwide. The consultancy developed for Packaging Products del Perú S.A. aims to identify the problems that affect its sustainability and propose solutions. To achieve this goal, meetings have been held with the board of directors, management, and key areas of the company. Financial and operational information from the last five (5) years has been analyzed, such as Audited Financial Statements, production reports, sales, costs, operating and financial expenses, as well as current and projected cash flows. As a result of these analyses, it was determined that the problem affecting the company's sustainability is the imminent risk of bankruptcy, which represents a serious financial challenge as it puts in danger its continuity operation. Having identified the imminent risk affecting the company, the consulting team determined that considering the financial and operational difficulties it has been experiencing, the solution is a combination of three key actions: 1. Establish strategic alliances with potential partners, 2. Implement a financial restructuring and 3. Implement a business segmentation of the company, through the creation of Spin-off focused on innovation. The first two points address immediate financial and operational aspects, while the third point, through a new business unit, promotes long-term growth through innovation. To propose the solutions, in the market research carried out by the consulting team, regarding the capabilities and product offerings of Packaging Products del Perú S.A., unexploited markets and segments have been identified, which represents a great opportunity to be able to enter them, taking better advantage of their infrastructure and optimizing the use of resources, with this it will be possible to meet the demand of a broader customer base and sectors, increasing their income and their market share. Packaging Products del Perú S.A. has decided to implement the proposed solutions, as part of this it has started negotiations for a strategic alliance with a producer of wet pet food proposed by the consulting team, stamp crucial step towards future alliances. At the same time, the company's legal team has started the legal analysis for the creation of Spin-off focused on innovation, and the financial department has started the search for a professional or company specialized in negotiations and financial restructuring.
